... and extra strength aspirin, but nothings really worked. How do I ease the pain?
yes, you need a good decongestant and the best one available is pseudoephedrine (the active ingredient in original Sudafed). If you are in the US, you have to ask for it at the pharmacy counter. It is an over the counter medication, it is just "watched" because people were buying huge, large quantities as an ingredient to make methamphetamines so you need to show your ID to purchase it. They have limits on how much you can purchase so they use your ID to check a databank to see how much you have purchased. If you are using it legitimately, there is no way you would use as much as the upper limit allowed. Anything out on the shelves has phenylephrine which is also a decongestant, it just doesnt work as well as psuedoephedrine does but you can try it if you wish to avoid the hassle at the pharmacy counter (for example Sudafed PE-if you see PE, it is because they substituted phenylephrine for the pseudoephedrine that was in the original formula so they could keep the product out on the shelf-you can still get the original formulas but you have to get it at the counter-even drugs like Nyquil. The original has pseudoephedrine but they have a PE version too). I dont get much relief from phenylephrine so I have to go to the counter for the pseudoephedrine. If you take a couple of pseudoephedrine tabs with your favorite OTC pain reliever, like ibuprofen, naproxen or acetaminophen, it should knock out a sinus headache.
