The question would relate to my pain issues.11 years ago i was run over by a car doing around 35mph while working at my job.It shifted my brain stem out of my skull 2 inches broke my neck and back along with cracking vertabraes in thorasic part of my back.I have had many surgeries and have managed to deal with the pain left from all my injuries.I became 100% disabled at the age of 25.Also have had surgeries both of my knees. Thanks to my wonderful pain management doctors caring for me like they have, meds and nerve blocks/epidurals on cervical, thorasic, lumbar and medication ive been able to keep pain where i can at least fish and easy things with my 3 wonderful children.Sorry for telling my life story but just need to get it out somehow.Thank ya very much
I have been taking opana for the last year and a half and it is very good for my pain issues. I also welcome you here , I have found lots of really good people here who have listened or rather read what I have written and have helped me to really understand the problems that I have. I was also in a car accident. An elderly lady crossed 6 lanes after running a stop sign and I saw her coming and slammed on the brakes the result her car went spinning and I was left in my car against the curb. Its true I saw my life go in front of me and I realized what options I had in that moment. Just two slam on the brakes or speed up. So yea I understand your pain. I have herniation's bulging and bad discs along with congenital problems from the lumbar to the cervical spine. I didn't know I had the result is that it hurts like hell almost most of the time but yes fishing is great and within the last year I married my college sweetheart and got a daughter.
Wow what a JOY! I didn't have children and thought I may never have them and then they just pop in to my life. Look I don't know that other drug you are taking but a combo of the opana with oxycodone and gabapenitin and meloxicam seem to give me enough relief to be able to enjoy my family. Some days the meds don't seem to do anything but then something my family does makes the clouds go away. I just got to keep letting the physical problems from clouding out the good things I have in my life now. Sounds like you have a great family going there. You should be very proud but use that to make the clouds that will come dissipate. At least it works for me on some of the really bad days. Im sorry I just wrote maybe too much but I hope I helped you a littly. If you have good pain Drs then you are doing great. But be proactive to find the right combo of meds that will help you get through every day. Good Luck to you.
Both medications are opiods and listed as being similar to morphine. I tried the nucynta, but was unable to take it due to severe side effects. However, my daughter takes it with no problems in that regard. But she's not overly impressed with it's pain relief. Since both medications are similar, I think it's more a case of you just have to try them out for yourself and see which one works best for your particular pain. The opana works better for me, but that's just me. I hope this helps you and you're able to find some relief from your pain.
welcome to the site, i just want to say i am so sorry for all the pain and suffering that u had to encounter at such a young age, i don't no much about neither of those meds as i use to be on perocet but no longer take them long story and this isn't about me it's about u! i just wanted to say that my prayers are with u always and your family and i wish u nothing but happiness, hopefully with u have good doctors they will get u on a combination of meds that makes u comfortable and beable to do some things u enjoy like the fishing etc... just no my prayers are with u always

Coming from someone who has been on Opana for over 5 years Nucynta is a poor excuse for an E. R. Med & my own Dr. warned me at best it would only help slightly as a break through pain med, yet the pharmacist claimed it was a strong E. R. Medicine. However when it came time to get my 15mg Roxi's back I was very gratefull. I have been on the Opana 40mg twice daily for five years & the Roxi 15mg X 4 a day for breakthrough pain for 3 years, & would settle for# 5 Loratabs(vicoden) before ever taking the Nucynta again
Hi there -I'm so sorry for what you've been through and I'm glad you have good docs helping you manage our pain. I tend to experience side effects with most drugs, Opana was one of them and the pain relief was minimal. I take Nucynta 250's and have no side effects and get solid pain relief. I haven't tried the ER, but as you mentioned, the regular do work well for breakthrough pain. Best of luck and healing to you.
I use to take nucynta 150 er which worked wonders for my pain nerve I had spinal cord surgery in 2011 to remove a tumor and I had a stroke a week later giving me nerve damage on left side of body waste down the nucynta worked great but after I got on medicaid I had to switch to opana as medicaid I guess don't pay for nucynta well I take opana 20 mg now and it don't work very well at all tried to c if my pain dr would raise it to 40 mg but she won't so idk what else is good for nerve damage
