I was on Foxamax for 40 years or so. New physician has recommended Prolia. I ordered it and the paperwork with it covered many side affects. What is the norm?
Like any drug, there are always potential side effects. According to my endocrinologist, she has stated that none or her patients are reporting issues with Prolia. I, myself, have been on the drug for over a year, no side effects, and my bone density has improved. If you are looking for a so called norm, I think you will find that Prolia is one of the drugs with the least deleterious effects to one's well being. Forteo is also purported to be patient friendly.
Basically, you have to choose what is right for you. Life is a risk.
Good luck with your decision.
I was on Fosamax for ten years and stopped about ten years ago when the side effects of Fosomax were made public. If you read up on the side effects of Fosomax you may be surprised, there are many!!
I have only been on Prolia a few weeks and so far have had no problems.
My hope is that it will help stop further bone loss.
