I am a mother with 2 boys and I used epidurals with both but this last one didn't work so great. I know anything I use that is not an epidural is going to have some pain but how intence. When I decide to have another baby in about 18 months I want to know what pain medicine to use and I have been thinking stadol. I am terrified of labor now and want something that will ease it and everything. Is stadol a good idea and couldn't you tell me what it feels like completely?
With my last labor they would rotate stadol & demerol up until I got an epidural. After my epidural I felt some contraction pain , but not much. When I started having severe pain, thats when they checked me & its normally a sign its time to push. They can only give you pain meds in labor so far up to delivery. Maybe 8cm? I cant remember exactly how far for sure though. They cant give it to up until the minute you deliver because the baby would be kinda drugged from it. This is just from my personal experience..I hope this was helpful to you. One more thing is..From time to time I watch deliver me on tv & have seen people with no pain meds or anything @ all & it looked pretty painful.
