ive been on suboxone for 17 months most of the time i was at 16mg then the last 2 months i was at 8 mg then got kicked off the program with a 5 day taper im on my 4th day of withdrawls and havent been able to sleep the only thing i can get right now are 10mg hydros but was wondering if i take them to sleep would that stunt my suboxonewithdrawl and basically put a reset button on this long process or would it help me get through these withdrawls.
I've been wondering the same thing. I've been on 2-6mg a day for the past 2 years and I'm beginning the tapering process now. I've tried like 5 times in the past but I've been in so much pain that I've gotten back on it. Anyway, I've read a lot of accounts of suboxone detoxing and here's what I understand about the hydro situation: When you stop taking the subs, go as long as you can without any help from rx's. Once you're in day 2,3 or 4 take 1 or 2 hydro's (either throughout the day leaving a larger dose for night time, or all at night time). Keep taking them at this rate for 5-7 days and then you'll be down to no wd's and you can take 2 or 3 days to taper off from the hydros.
This is what I picked up from a few people who've done this successfully and become suboxone free. It didn't interfere with the detox process, it only eased the pain and made the process more tolerable.
I hope this helps!
P.S. I'm not a doctor and this info is just what i've read from other boards but i hope it helps you.
That will make it worse bud. It will start the withdrawals all over again. It is not going to be easy, and just ask yourself.. "Am I taking suboxone to get off hydros?" I mean what's the use of trying it in the first place if you"re going to try and go back on hydros or opiate based medicines? Do you really want to have to keep substituting one for the other? I go to the suboxone clinic, and have been prescribed opiates until the last 4-5 months for twenty + years.
