I had the Depo shot one time, about 4 months ago. My fiancé came in me twice and I was on my period which came a few days ago. It's very light and I barely need a tampon. Is it possible that I could be pregnant? How long should I wait to get pregnant? By the way he came in me while my period was on you could say.
You won't know if it was a true period, or just hormonal breakthrough bleeding as the Depo Provera starts to leave your body.
Pregnancy is possible, but the Manufacturer advises that it can take up to 18 months to regain your fertility, after even just 1 shot of Depo Provera.
How long to wait before trying is unclear.
If it can take up to 18 months to leave your body to the point you regain your fertility, then it makes sense to me that it can still be affecting you in other ways.
I don't know if you've ever looked into the ingredients of Depo, but they may not be what you'd want to affect the body of a growing baby. That's a very personal decision.
My advice is to do your research well, before making a decision. Research each ingredient. That's what I'd do, anyway.
There is still mixed medical opinion about the effects of Depo on a growing baby (for example, someone getting their first shot whilst not realising they are pregnant). Personally, I have heard women who believe it caused their miscarriages. Proving that is very difficult, though.
