I had a surgery in Nov 2013 on my left foot that left me with RSD. My foot doctor never confirmed that I had RSDS, he always said that it was inflammation and gave me more drugs for the pain, until I went to see a Neurology who gave me the news. Since then I have been wearing a surgical shoes on my foot, I am not able to wear anything else so bad the pain is. Whatever I do its painful even taking a shower and having the water pouching my toes, I have 2 little kids and they cant understand why mom doesn't play like before with them. This thing is ruining my life and I am having hard time to adjust. Could anyone recommend a shoes and also is rsd can spread to more part of your body. Thanks and god bless all of you.

- pain, reflex sympathetic dystrophy syndrome, surgery, doctor, inflammation
So sorry to hear about your situation. I, too, have RSD, after an ankle surgery that I found out, after months/years? of seeing doctors, badly damaged the saphenous nerve in my instep. For me, it doesn't matter so much what kind of shoes I wear, except to buy only those with big, firm toe boxes, that will protect my toes as much as possible from being struck by something.
I finally ended up going on a Fentanyl patch and Lyrica for the nerve pain. Lyrica is specifically designed for nerve pain. Fentanyl is a strong opiate and I don't like it, but it was necessary to make life bearable.
Keeping you in my thoughts--
