I recently got put on ativan. But then she also prescribed me a depression / anxiety medicine and then another medicine. How do I tell her that I only want to be on one and which one would be the best for the panic and anxiety. I don't want to sound like a druggy when I talk to my doctor but also need to get my anxiety and panic attacks under control as well.
There are ADs that work on anxiety and panic such as Celexa, Zoloft, and Lexapro. Since most of the psychotropic meds have SEs tell your doc that you only want to have be on one med. Sometimes when an AD is prescribed they also give an anti-anxiety med to be used for the short-term.
an antidepressant such as lexapro/zoloft etc works well for anxiety during the day(long lasting) and usually u will need to b prescribed for sleep incase of insomnia & side effects until that medicine works (usually 4-6weeks) i was prescribed lexapro 5mg, and seroquel for sleep, now im on 10mg lexapro and no longer need the seroquel as i am on a good dose for me. have u just started the meds? can u list them here? i can imagine being prescribed 3 different meds at once would be hard on yor body/brain to ajust to
