Hello. Some one please help. I have a sharp pain that comes and goes at rest. I've just had a stress test. Ultra sound of heart. Blood work. Ekg. Mammogram and chest exrays. All which I'm told is good. I do take medication for anxiety. And welchol for diaharea. And albutetol prn. When the sharp pain comes it only last for a few seconds. Could it be gerd. Acid reflux or what. Please help. As I'm not working and have no insurance. As I've lost my job. Thanks to all for any advice.
Do you have any pain in the area if you press on it? I'm thinking of costal chondritis, inflammation of the cartilage around the ribs. Sometimes that pain is so strong you swear it has to be a heart attack. Usually something like motrin or aleve will help that.
Curious if you ever figured out what was causing your pain. I too have sudden, occasionally sharp pain. It seems to be originating within the breast tissue, on my left side. Once the sharp pain subsides, I feel a deep ache for some time. I do take an antidepressant, and have read that could be causing the pain. I’m not too concerned, but it’s uncomfortable, of course, and still causes me some concern.
Have either of you woman considered or been worked up for cracked or broken ribs.
Women especially as they get older are very prone to get some form of osteoarthritis.
Also, Rhonda you mentioned you have a sharp pain then a dull deep ache. These symptoms are very indicative of bruised or cracked ribs.
It is not hard to suffer from bruised or cracked ribs. Cracked ribs can occur from being hugged, coughing or falling etc.
