I am still accepting my diagnosis after fighting it for 10 years. New alters are appearing and I am grateful that I am in therapy. This is still hard for me to come to terms with. Could anyone share with me their experiences of denial of their disorder and things they did toward acceptance of it? Thank you.

Oops--I'm sorry. I have DID, or dissociative identity disorder. Over the past 10 years I have been diagnosed with a mild dissociative disorder, but nothing as concrete as DID. Now there are alters presenting themselves and my diagnosis was made two weeks ago.
