i had sex and took the first pill that same night. a week later i got my period but its light and my cramps are alot lighter than usual. does that mean im not pregnant since i got my period?
I am assuming you mean Plan b? If you got your period, it is unlikely that you are pregnant. Dont be surprised if your periods act a little unusual for a few months after Plan b-it can really screw up your cycle. Dont rely on Plan b as a birth control though. Plan b is designed to be used for emergency contrapception, for instance, you used a condom and it broke. If you are going to be sexually active, you need to be thinking about some form of regular birth control. There are many options out there. If you are uninsured you might try somewhere like a county clinic or Planned Parenthood for low cost or free options.
I agree it is unlikely you are pregnant from that one time. However, what ya been doin since? Women do get pregnant during their periods, can have breakthrough bleeding when pregnant.
The surest way to know is to get a home test kit. And remember that it takes at least two months for your body to regulate on the pill. You have to take it every day without fail and at the same time.
Finally, the guy had best use a condom or use abstinence until you are protected. A woman has to always think about what they will do if pregnant once they become active because few of us are like perfect clocks and respond perfectly to medications. Talk to enough women and you will hear every story possible of when they became pregnant. Be careful and be smart.
