So I had sex for the first time 2 weeks ago. After the third time having sex, I started bleeding, like a full on period. This worries me because I am in my third month of taking birth control pills and I wasn't due for my placebo pills for another week. I bled for like a week, and I took my placebo pill yesterday. I was supposed to get my period yesterday but I'm only brown and spotting. Should I be concerned? I don't know what I should do... I'm thinking of buying the plan b just in case.
No, you're just getting used to the pill, and weird things happen during that time. It can take 6 mos to get straight on them. As long as you are taking your pills correctly you are 99% protected. You don't get your period on the first placebo pill. What good is plan b at this point? Do you know how plan B works. It delays ovulation, but with the birth control pill you do not ovulate. Plan b isn't magic and does not stop a pregnancy in progress. Just take your pills correctly and you will never need something like plan B.
