I take birth control everyday and this past week i was on antibiotics, which i know make your birth control very ineffective. I took an antibiotic Friday but forgot Saturday and had sex that night. I used back up contraceptive and the condom broke. I took a plan b the next morning because i was scared and afraid that my birth control wouldn't cover me. I have one more day left in my pack, should i take it then go off birth control for a month? I know Plan B and birth control is a crazy amount of hormones your body isn't meant to handle.
No. You can continue to take your regular birth control as normal.
There are not many antibiotics that actually interfere with the birth control pills. If you put the name of the antibiotic you are taking, into this website's search field, above, or into an internet search engine, asking if it interferes with birth control, you'll find out if you needed Plan B. Chances are, you did not.
It's also worth doing an internet search on correct condom use, as there are ways to prevent breakage.
