currently taking percocet, the highest dosage and the most allowed in a day, however it's not working any longer, not at all,my back went out this morning trying to get out of bed to go to the bathroom,i have severe back spasm's,and i go crooked, and then im stuck in bed. I have three open back surgeries coming up,blown disc's,spine, neck, anyway my question is,what's the next up pain med from percocet? I need to bring this up to the doctor this week, because i cant tolerate the pain any longer, seriously it's that bad,the spasm's are so bad that it's flipped my uterus,my hip's are out of place,it's just a mess, but i dont know the next level of pain med after percocet, does anyone know the next strongest med? thanks:) T
Teal. I would talk to your doctor about a long acting narcotic. Something like Oxycontin, Morphine Sulfate ER, or maybe even a Fentanyl patch. I recommend the patch because you only have to change it every 3 days. I personally just started the patch (Fentanyl is 80 to 100x more potent than morphine) 12.5mcg/h which hasn't done squat so far but I'm positive it will work at a higher dose for me personally because I've used Fentanyl before. Like you mentioned though, talk with your doctor and tell him or her how you feel and tell him or her your pain level and mention that the Percocet doesn't work anymore for you. I hope this helps. Good luck to you!
