am struggling for air, like gasping. Has this ever happened to anyone else? This has happened twice before and I went to the ER and they told me there was nothing wrong with me.
I have severe copd and pah. Lately over the past week my O2 stat has been 96-98 but I feel like I?

I am not sure if this posted twice sorry if it did.
How many liters of Oxygen are you using? You should be on no more than 3L. If you turn it up higher than 3L, it can actually keep you from breathing well. A lot of people who use O2 have a tendency to want to turn it up when they gasp for breath but in COPD this can make things worse. Dont go any higher than 3L. Do you have an inhaler like Albuterol or a nebulizer for "rescue" use? You can try using your rescue inhaler or a nebulizer treatment to see if this helps to open your airway. If not, you should get in to see your primary Dr or if you have a pulmonologist, see him/her. Sometimes when you are getting low levels of O2, the brain sends "panic signals" to the body making your heart rate to rise and make you breathe faster to bring more oxygen to your brain. Sometimes an anti-anxiety drug can help. At 96-98% Sats, your Sats are good so it may just be anxiety.
