... to do?? Can't Sleep for the pain in my lower back. My right leg as Metel screws and bolts in it from a wreck 7 yrs ago. I need to know what to do. Thanks
I would take a wild guess and say you may have some arthritis/degeneration, possibly herniated discs, possibly stenosis. Some of this could have happened in your wreck-you may have had damage done to your back but you may not have realized it because the pain in your leg was your main focus, plus as we get older, old injury sites get arthritic and if the injury and repair caused your leg to be off balance (shorter or longer), this throws out your back and puts pressure on places where it shouldnt be and this leads to damage over time. See your primary doctor. If needed get a referral to pain management. You may get some relief with injections, perhaps an anti-inflammatory, muscle relaxant or analgesics. This can be done by pain management and/or your PCP.
My brother was 15 when he was in a bad motorcycle accident. He had a rod and screws put in his leg and injured his back. He is now 61 and still has severe pain from that. I would ask for an mri to make sure nothing has happened since your accident, then see a pain management dr.
