I also have diabetes, depression, and bipolar disorder too. Xanax worked for 23 years. I've had back surgery with chronic pain so I take pain medicines. ANY SUGGESTIONS...

Amphetamines probably aren't going to be much help with anxiety. Xanax is for anxiety. Talk to your doctor. Advice from here should not be confused with solid medical advice.
Hi, Terry! Xanax is a sedative, but can cause increased anxiety/panic with long term use. Adderall is a combination of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine which can help with some specific anxiety disorders but tends to be too highly stimulating for SAD, GAD, etc.
Are you taking any medications for your Bipolar disorder? A mood stabilizer may be helpful for depression along with a medication like Latuda or Seroquel.
Personally, since I'm also Bipolar and can't take antidepressant/anxiolytics, and won't touch a benzodiazepine like Xanax with a ten foot pole, I've found buspirone the answer to my associated anxiety disorders.
But as previously noted, the best place to get advice in a situation like this is from a licensed professional... preferably a psychiatrist.
