So far fluoxetine, Citalopram and Escitalopram have not worked for me... Has anyone else had the same experience before trying Setraline?
Hi, mess! Every single person reacts differently to every single medication and it's not unusual to have to try several, or even a combination of medications, before finding what works best for uniquely you. Just ask ~ a majority of us here have been where you are and now are happy we had the patience and courage to keep trying.
Also, you have to give these drugs a fair trial by continuing to take them for as long as several months before deciding whether or not it's working. Too many people stop too soon because it's not working instantly and fast enough for them or they experience mild, expected side effects.
Go for it and hope for the best. This may be the one! WCV
Hi Bit of a Mess-
Like you I have tried many antidepressants. Prozac, Celexa, Effexor, Paxil and Zoloft. I had bad side effects and or could not tolerate how lethargic or disconnected I was. It can be disappointing and frustrating. It is trail and error until you find what works best for you. Zoloft may be the one for you. You will not know until you try it. I pray that you find something that helps you soon.
Hi, after reading your comment and WCV's advice, i would second the suggestion of trying a combination therapy. Obviously your doctor would need to agree... i take a combination of medications and they work very well together. Quite often people suffer from more than one mental health issue, so this is a good basis for successful treatment
