I was diagnosed with PTSD four years ago. I have such a big problem trying to fall asleep and it can take hours for me to feel tired which affects my mood the following day. Also staying asleep is a massive problem due to the night terrors. I have tried everything from Kalms, chamomile tea, scented oils, breathing exercises, sleep meditation etc. So I went to the doctors recently to say I had finally given up with not being able to sleep. She increased my sertraline to 100mg a day.. Will this help? Or am I just wasting my time?
You can try the increase in sertraline to see if it helps with your sleep issue. I have PTSD and had night terrors. I understand how disturbing and frightening they can be and how the lack of quality sleep can affect your out look on life. I did all the things you mention also. They helped but did not stop the terrors. If you would like to friend me so we can talk private I would happy to share what worked and what did not for me. I no longer have the night terrors.
I will add you as a friend. No worries if you choose not to talk private.
My heart goes out to you. PTSD is a challenge my friend.
