she is a woman that is very controlling issues and some what insecure most end by her leaving I guess because she does not get what she wants.

Hi, confab! Antidepressants can be very helpful with situational depressions but they can take 4 ~ 8 weeks to become fully effective. They are (or should be) most often prescribed for chronic, clinical depression.
Have you considered talk therapy with a psychologist or licensed counselor? You could talk to your doctor for advice and a possible referral.
