I have Medicare/Medicaid in NYC & They are Filling my "Scripts" NON-Stop!!! How Often can I do this?? And can I get End-less supply Of Pain Meds. from Different doctors??
Thanks for Replies
I live in California and there's no way the pharmacies here would keep filling endless scripts. I was put on 50mcg fentanyl patch and the doc increased it to 75 and the pharmacy didn't want to fill it. I had to argue with them about it and 6 days later they finally filled it while i suffered in pain. If your taking these scripts to different pharmacies and your med dosing is being changed frequently then yes it's possible. Here in Cali, the pharmacy systems are linked up and they know when/where you've got meds. You need to be careful with so many scripts, you could accidently overdose.
Fentanyl is a very dangerous medication if not taken as directed. I am on Fentanyl 50's as well as Breakthrough pain meds of Lortab 10/325's, also Robaxen 750's. I get a new script once every 30 days, which is by law the earliest my script can be renewed. Why on earth would you want to try and get more prescriptions from various doctors is very suspicious to begin with. Here in Washington, most RX's are linked via computer and would be able to tell if there were multiple attempts to fill a prescription within a given time limit. Also, by law I must go to my doctor and obtain a written script that I must hand carry to my pharmacy each time I need to refill the Fentanyl. To be honest, what you have described above looks very much like someone wanting to find a way to re-distribute a controlled medication for profit. Doesn't mean that is what you are doing, just that it would appear very much like that with the way you described what you were trying to do.
i live in tn and my dr.s would never write that many scripts, they know when you are having to many filled, i have never had a dr, that would give that much and would not ask,i am only allowed the meds from pain manget. and have to sign a pain contract, be very careful or they will cut you out of any of your meds,I hope you are not selling them cuz that makes it hard for the one's who play by the rules, hope you can get some relief and take care.
this is how you go to jail and live in cronic pain by not recieving your meds (a lot of jails dont give meds like they are required to). good luck
U ask people like you is why ppl like me who take my med rite makes it hard for us who need them .to get them
No you can't get an endless supply. There is a limit of 30 doses per month and if you try to get more you will probably end up in big trouble! Most pharmacys are computer connected and they check on this, 30 per month is the limit. They figure that anyone who is trying to get more than the doctors orders call for is trying to sell drugs and you could end up in jail. Please don't try to get more than your primary doctor prescribes, you could be in jail for a long time.
This also hurts the ones who go by the rules.
