I recomend you go to a migraine specialist. Where is the pain located? One of the top migraine clinics in the US is Michigan Head Pain and Neurological Institute in Ann Arbor, MI. 734 677-6000. They also have an in-patient program that is excellent.
For me, and most people, it takes a lot of experimentation to find the correct medication combination to help prevent the migraines. Finding the right doctor is important. And, be patient. I understand the pain you are in and the good news is that there is nothing in your brain that is causing the problem.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Good luck!
Have you tried taking Excedrin? It helps alot of people with difficut headaches. Even the generic brands work really well. They have 500mg of aspirin, 500mg of tylenol, & about 60mg of caffeine. It's the caffeine combo that makes them really work well. Be sure to read the label, & get what I said. I take it with a cup of coffee too, adding more caffeine, & it reallys helps. I used to have migraines 24/7-6 weeks at a time. They gave me the immitrex shots you give yourself, & they worked! the headaches got further & further apart with each injection, & eventually just sotpped. I had them for over 35 years every day! Just a thought... Mary
Hi Shanto, sorry you having a rough time getting a diagnosis which prolongs your suffering. One thing you can try right away is cutting out sugar. I used to get terrible migraines and it took many tests but I found out I had hypoglycemia/low blood sugar. When I ate sugar it would drop really low and start a headache that that went on forever. It's worth a try. The actual test is about 6-8 hours where you drink a sugar liquid and they test your blood levels every half hour to see how your sugar levels go over a "period of time" which the routine sugar tests don't show. The test shows the drops and how much below normal. You can try cutting out the sugar and see if it helps. If not I wish you the best in getting a diagnosis. Also could be a food allergy? take care, mindy
hi shanto009,how long ago did these headachs start? by that i'm asking when they started what was going on in your life?Did you change anything in your diet or did you have an accident,or did they just start one day and go right to where they are now? or did they start slowly over time and just keep getting worse? pain in your head is not to be taken lightly.could be a rise in blood pressure or a reaction to something you changed.try to think back and let us know where and when they started... pete
