im sorry to keep asking so many questions here, but i go to the doctors tomorrow,i cancelled today, just couldnt get myself motivated, anyway,im just trying to find out as much as i can so that i can bring up to the doctor ideas that could help me. Im trying to find an anti-depressant that has worked for someone with extreme depression, and one with less side effects, and of course something that can be taken with xanax, percocet, and im sure a water pill called spironolatone wont be a problem, right now im on celexa and it doesnt work at all,i have felt no relief, and i've been on it long enough,60 mg a day,so i would appreciate some feed back from anyone who has had a good experience with an anti-depressant. thank you so much:)
Im on Zoloft for severe suicidal ideation depression and it started working when i got to 150mg (now on 200mg which is the max dose as well as doing psychotherapy and self cognitive behavioral therapy... results in 0 depression symptoms from me). SSRI's are best since most of them have a long half life so easy withdrawals. these are really trial and error drugs for people. its hard to say what will specificaly work for you but the only antidepressants that interact with perc and xan are MAOIs and Tricyclics which are prescribed last.
also the best thing you can do when your unmotivated is to force yourself since that will show you that you can beat this and you arnt being controlled by this disorder *dopamine releases and you feel happier*
What is good for you is not always good for you. I have in my life a major spell of depression and had to try at least 10 different kinds of medication till I found the right one. I feel for you. To think a doctor knows everything, is normal. I finally realized that a doctor is just like you or me, with a big education.
It is a funny thing, how psyche medications work. You don't feel them work like xanax and many of the other drugs that take off the edge. It is not a druggie thing, it is a, I guess I would call it a feeling inside. You just feel better.
Do not give up, listen to your body. There is something out there just for you.
i tell you what i have been on every antidepressant they make well all the new ones and then by just luck my neurologist prescribed me elavil and man within a week i started to feel better of course i am on paxil too but the elavil has been agreat addon the paxil wasnt doing its job but the elavil kicked it in,now im not sure how many antidepressants youve tried but if you suffer from major depression ask your dr aboput elavil, also an added bonus it helps you sleep and is good for chronic pain.good luck
