... tomorrow and I am still so tired and unable to do much! My question is though my face is not the right colour, a silly question maybe but everyone comments on it, I have a tanned look ( I have not been out of the house!) Just wanted reassurance - anyone else?
I've had sepsis twice now. I haven't experienced or heard anything about facial coloring being off.
Regarding other post-sepsis issues: It is normal to experience fatigue and recurring infections after sepsis. I am two-months out from my last attack. I experienced five infections within four weeks of my release from the hospital. I am now sick yet again with an upper/lower respiratory infection. I am constantly exhausted.
Also, I have trouble concentrating. Memory therapy and keeping cognitively active (math, puzzles, reading other languages, etc.) should help me overcome this last issue.
Hi Beingbrave. Believe me, you are not alone. Not everyone has the same reactions to Sepsis; they are as varied as can be and yet all very similar or the same. I have discoloration on my feet and legs from lack of blood circulation during my infection. Some people have a yellowish-tan tinge to their skin. Some have very mottled skin coloring. And it is very hard to get medical professionals who fully understand what you are trying to explain. They will tell you that a certain thing didn't happen because of sepsis, when you know that certain thing never affected you before. You know your body and what you are feeling. And other things may come along later on. I started losing my hair when I was released, 8 weeks after admission to hospital. Memory seems to be getting worse as is being much more clumsy (always dropping or spilling things) But I am 70 yrs old. I just hate the feeling of not being my "normal" self anymore. Just take one step at a time.
