I am taking 87 mcg levelthyroxine daily and propranolol at night and sometimes during the day. I'm still feeling very anxious at times, do I need to see an endocrinologist, my doctor seems reluctant to refer me to one. What exactly does an endocrinologist do?

I firmly believe that all people who have thyroid problems should see an endocrinologist. Their one job is the endocrine system, this includes diabetes and hypothyroidism. They are versed in the latest treatments and have more experience with it. If your thyroid isn't balanced right it can cause anxiety.
