Hi there, I was riding a horse and my foot got caught on a panel and the horse kept going. This happened 3 days ago. It's hard to walk. I have swelling and pain on the inner side of my knee. I can bend my knee approx 45°. When I'm sitting or laying down I can straighten my leg but when I'm standing I can't seem to straighten it. My knee cap feels awkward when I try to. My foot gets tingly and my knee feels hot most of the time. When I stand up from sitting i get an excruciating pain and blood rush feeling through my knee. Is this of any concern? Should I go see a doctor?
Hi chico, I have alot of OR, orthopedic, experience. Yes I think you need to see an orthopedic Doc. It sounds like you might have torn your meniscus. That is cartridge that lies in-between your knee joint. When that happens, the torn piece gets caught in the joint preventing you from having full range of motion. Other issues could be you injured your patellar tendon, or ligaments that run on both sides of your knee. The doc will run you through a full range of motion in the office, diagnose, and take appropriate measures. He may suggest an arthroscopy. You also need to see a doc because you sound like you have nerve issues (tingling) and possible circulatory issues (hot, blood rush feeling). Hope this helps. Feel better soon, and feel free to ask anymore ??'s. L
Yes I agree with ELMO if you have not gotten in yet at least keep some Ice on it should help and you could take some generic Advil if you have not taken it before talking with the pharmacist about it anyway it's always best to be safe. great job Elmo and hope you are doing better Chico.
