I'm on xanex and klonopin (low doses) during the day but they cause absolutely no sedation for me just the anti-anxiety effects. I'm on 250mg seroquel for sleep but I still get little to no sleep its just not working. And my P Doc dosent want to go over 250 on the seroquel he wants to try something different. So I see him tomorrow so can anybody recommend anything better than seroquel for sleep? And OTC sleep aids just don't effect me. Thanks everyone!
Wow, 250mg for sleep is a very high dose, i can understand why your doctor doesn't want to increase it. One medication you can safely take long term is Amitriptyline. I took it at 50mg per night, and after it took a little while to kick in it was very helpful! Like you, medications don't affect me as they would 'usually', OTC are useless and even Zopiclone don't help much at all. Depending which country you live in, Melatonin are great (so long as you follow the instructions to the letter). I tried them when I was in S/A but unfortunately they are unavailable in the UK where i live. They are available in the US and many other countries though
Hi spear; really up to the doctor and your system we all react differently skip anything OTC have you ever tried Trazodone, Or as Dillia said Amitriptyline and remember different medications the milligrams mean nothing. And I understand same here with the nerve pills never make me sleepy .Good luck hope you and the doctor come up with something. Chuck1957
Hey spear; Remember to ask your doctor if you should taper down the Seroquel because you are on a high dose and some people have problems just stopping it. Without dropping the dose while you are starting the Amitriptyline or even Nortriptyline is another one that is in the same family.Good luck to you. Chuck1957
