... take the pills. I am on my fourth yellow pill and I still haven't started my period yet.. What does this mean? Or should I just stick it out and wait to see what thursday/friday/saturday bring?
If you miss pills, you should make them up but you should also use back up protection for seven days after the miss. If you didnt do this there is a possibility of pregnancy. The pill is very effective but it has to be taken properly and this means every day at approximately the same time of day. Missing one pill is not a big deal but if you miss more than one pill in a month, you greatly increase the chances of getting pregnant. Wait and see what happens, keep taking your pill. On occasion a woman may skip a period but if you miss next months period as well then you need to test for pregnancy. You can test next week if you dont get a period the rest of this week to reassure yourself. You may yet start so dont get excited yet. If you dont get a period this week and you decide to test, use the very first void (pee) of the morning because it will be the most concentrated and will likely have the highest concentration of hormone the test looks for. From now on, do your best not to miss. Set an alarm on your phone, write a sign on your bathroom mirror-whatever you have to do to remind yourself. If you do have a missed pill either abstain for a week or use condoms as back up.
