Im only one dose a day, im still in so much pain, cant get any sleep what should I do? HELP!!!
Hello there, I'm sorry to hear about your Sciatica. Can you tell me? How old you are, and how long has this been going on? Gabapentin and I can only speak for myself. Doesn't seem to do anything for most people. It's a drug that you get in the beginning of treatment before they try a few hundred other's. Does this pain seem to start in your lower Back? I would ask my doctor to try a new treatment plan. Take care.
Hi. You are on a minimum dose. Your doctor can up the dose until this becomes tolerable or may disappear. I will assume you have taken this for a week. Three or four times per day? Good communication with the doctor is important.
When you take this drug it has to be taken like clock work. The reason is the dose become steady in your system and you won't have break through pain. If you take it too late or too early every day, the dosing doesn't work well and there will always be breakthrough pain. If you don't take it until you hurt, it is very hard to catch up and may take days. So don't start and stop daily. It takes about a month for it to be really effective. Once you take it carefully it really does work well of most people. The thing is, most people aren't ll that careful. I set a clock and wrote down when I took it. Made a lot of difference for pain. On the other hand, some people have strong side effects. Sometimes one has to choose. It is the go to drug for nerve pain, not muscle or other pain. Good luck. I am curious how your doctor responds.
