I cancelled surgery and getting 2nd opinion from a top Neurosurgeon in Phx. on Wed.Aug 7th..The surgery was scheduled for June 22nd.I thought I could deal w/pain. The surgeon was a Ortho Spine Specialist. Is a Neurosurgeon a better option?
A neurosurgeons opinion is alway good when you are concerned about nerve issues... if need be, the orthopedic and neurosurgeon can coordinate care if they have priviledges at the same hospital. I have transported many paitents with chronic back issues, even my best friend that was injured in an accident. He has 18 injections monthly in his back and pain meds and they all refuse back surgery until it is a last resort... you have will have to be well informed enough to decide if the risks outweigh benefits. I wish you well and hope you can get the answers you want and need to make that choice.
