... back that is very painful. I am now out of meds. I just changed to a new doc I haven't seen yet and don't have an appointment with for another two weeks and I am out of my medication. I will have no meds to tolerate my pain and I will suffer withdrawal which I am frightened of. I can't go to detox because I am finishing my finals for college, what is the best thing to do? I need help as soon as possible if anyone is out there, this is hard for me to talk about but I don't know what to do
You are in a difficult position. Can you call the new doctors office and explain your predicament and see if they can see you sooner? Maybe call the old doctor and see if they will prescribe for just enough to get by until you see the new doctor. You may not have severe withdrawals as you haven't been on the opiate for a long time but I don't know how much you were use to taking so I can't tell for sure. You may need to prepare for symptoms such as diarrhea, muscle cramps and restless leg. You can google the Thomas recipe for suggestions of over the counter remedies. It also recommends a benzodiazepine which requires a prescription.
When are your finals over? I hate for you to be in distress during finals. Can you give your general doctor a call to see if he/she can help? If things get to bad you may have to try an ER to get some meds until you can be seen by the new doctor.
