About 3 months ago, I found out I have fibromyalgia. My severe pain has been reduced significantly by savella. The side effects include heavy sweats, frozen feet off/on and remembering most of my dreams at night. I have never been in any kind of deep depression... so HOW does this drug work?
Savella is meant for fibromyalgia, but works on depression the same as an anti-depressant according to both of my doctors. My doctor thought it was more of a political decision to get people with fibromyalgia to take Savella. The anti-depressant label puts off a lot of people, even though anti-depressants do work on pain in general. Like my anti-depressant, Effexor, then Pristiq, I also remembered most of my dreams. With the Effexor they were always good dreams. With the Pristiq, they were not so good. But now that I'm taking Baclofen for Trigeminal Neuralgia, I don't remember any of my dreams. You should talk to your doctor about your side effects to find out if they might get better with time or a decrease in the dosage. Good luck.
