What is the safest alternative for omeprazole during pregnancy?

Probably tums. I lived on them when I was pregnant. Talk to your obstetrician. Zantac may be ok.

My doc gave me protonix. Ask your doc and see what they recommend but i do know there are some safe meds that can be taken to help with heartburn durning pregnancy.

Ranitidine or famotidine are safe alternatives to omeprazole they are acid reducers not acid blockers but the best advice I can give you is call the nurses line at your local hospital they will tell you there safest recommendations free discount card
