I started on birth control the third day of my period then had unprotected sex after two days. Did i still need the seven-day period considering the day i starter using the pill? Am i safe or should I get the morning after pill?
I realize this response is late but still needs some clarification for the rest of your "first" month of starting oral birth control. You need to use a back up method of birth control, i.e. condoms, for instance, during the ENTIRE FIRST MONTH. You are not considered covered and protected until then. That is also presuming that you are taking your pills at the same time each and every day without missing a single dose.
For each and every month following that... you are protected as long as you continue to take your pill like clockwork, on time... without missing a dose. Any deviation from this routine increases your chance of getting pregnant.
