I had an anxiety attack 3 weeks ago. So I went to the Dr. He prescribed me Paroxetine 12.5mg CR with Clonazapam 0.25mg at night. In five days I experienced a couple side effects so I called the Dr. and asked him if I could lower the dose of Clonazapam from 0.25mg to 0.125mg and he said it's okay. After lowering the dose I felt much better. I actually want to withdraw from these med but bit worried about the withdrawals and all. I told the Dr. about this. Now he prescribed me Paroxetine 10mg IR and has told me take 0.125 Clonazapam on alternate days. Is it safe. Please help!
luke,,, Sounds like you have a pretty good doctor, that is a very safe way of doing the tappering off... Just remember this panic attack just happened so you don't want to go off to soon until you know what got this started in the first place on those doses and if they are working is not bad at all... good luck Chuck1957
If you trust your Dr then there is no issue, for anyone other than your Dr to advise you on this would be a statement that you do not trust your Dr, in which case a 2nd opinion from a Dr one-on-one would be the safest route to go, considering your unique history may cause a generic answer to (possible) be incorrect.
