Do you have an endocrinologist you see? And do they know you're pregnant? There's different guidelines for DM treatment when you're pregnant or did you get diagnosed with gestational diabetes? If you are already a diabetic and just got pregnant you need to let your doctor know. Congratulations and best of luck!
Metformin is in pregnancy category B. This means that no problems have been shown when tested on animals and there are no studies on humans. Its best that your ob is aware of every med you are on. If you're taking it for diabetes, the danger to the baby if you have a high blood sugar is probably greater then the med. However sometimes the ob changes the meds during pregnancy.
