I was advised to quit ibuprofen because my BUN was elevated because Ibuprofen is damaging to kidneys when used chronically. I had been using one or two daily for minor aches and pains.
Of course, it's BEST not to take it daily, but I do and BUN has been higher for me too... I'm 76... and have a mess from hip replacement and deal with FM and OA...
I get some nice help with Pain RX herbal by Hi Tech and mix it in daily. Wish I had better answers and didn't deal with so much pain here...
I do take DGL for stomach protection and that saves my stomach. I have taken more ibuprofen since hip replacement mess... looking at my labs since hip in 2010, BUN has elevated... damnnnnn
There are homeopathics for kidney support, and I think I'll look into them, you might want to do the same.
Hello Sebset. My Dr prescribed my Ibuprofen 800's 1 tablet 3 times daily about 8-9yrs ago & I am still on it. He does labs every 3 months & check liver function, Kidneys etc each time & im always ok so far. I take atleast 1 daily most days 2 but rarely 3 pills a day unless pain is high. If your labs are showing elevated levels & Dr wants you off them tho I suggest you follow Drs orders to be safe. Maybe a prescription pain cream like Voltair would be safer. Talk to your Dr. Good luck
