I am currently on Propafenone 150mg x3/day for irregular heart rythem; cyclobenzaprine 10mg/day; CITALOPRAM 60mg/day; sumatriptan 100mg as needed for migraines (14-25/month). I have read the Major Interactions that your website states using these meds together and am concerned that I may be hurting myself with these combinations. Is there a safe combination of Propafenone and an anti-depressant? Thank you. Virginia
Hi you could discuss with your doctor trying Mirtazapine? It doesn't interact with the Propafenone. I have to comment on the dose of Citalopram you are taking, it is above the recommended dose anyway, and because you have a heart condition, you probably should not be prescribed this? I'm also on 60mg, it was prescribed a few years ago now, but since the dosing guidelines have changed, doctor's are being told to lower the dose to 40mg maximum... I saw one pharmacist who refused to dispense my prescription.
