I know you want a direct answer, yet I can't give you one right now. I must enter all her meds into the (above) interactions checker, and my internet has been spotty at best today. Give me some time and I will try to research all of her meds.
We have some incredibly smart nurses on this board who can give you an answer without having to enter the meds into the interaction checker. Hang in there and either I will get back to you OR one of our top people can answer you.
How long has she been on all of this stuff, how old is she? How many mgs of the oxycodone is she taking? Is she showing some weird side effects, such as nodding off in mid sentence, anything like that, or sleeping while standing up? Let us know that stuff if you can asap.
Best to you and mum,
Ok, hydrochlorothiazide is ok with the other meds, How much oxycodone and how much gabapentin a day total? She really isn't on alot of medications, I take 8 a day and there are others here with more then that. As long as one doc is ordering them and she goes to the same pharmacy for all of them, you can pretty much trust they're ok together. She isn't all that healthy, I would bet she's diabetic, doesn't have her blood sugar controlled real well, and has peripheral neuropathy. The amitriptyline is a very low dose and it along with the gabapentin, oxycodone/percocet, and ibuprofen is for the pain of the neuropathy. Gabapentin had a high daily dose allowance and many of us take it safely. The hydrochlorothiazide is also a relatively small dose. Peripheral neuropathy can be very painful and some serious meds are needed for it.
