Hello Kitsos,

Regarding the medication you mention, is it Rituxan? because I can not find your medication. Please confirm.-

Rituxan (rituximab) is a cancer medication that interferes with the growth and spread of cancer cells in the body.

*Treatment of Hemolytic Anemia*

Treatment depends on the type and cause of the hemolytic anemia.

In emergencies, a blood transfusion may be needed.
For hemolytic anemia caused by an overactive immune system, drugs that suppress the immune system may be used.
When blood cells are being destroyed at a fast pace, the body may need extra folic acid and iron supplements to replace what is being lost.

With regards to your 2nd question, I do not know the answer because I can not find the medication (please double check the spelling).

Take care,

I was diagnised with IAHA May of 2012. Hospitalized twice within 5 months. Second stay I received Ratuxin with steroids and immunglobuluns. It took 3 weeks for my hgb. to reach 10 so I could go home. It was 4.2. After leaving the hosp. I took 3 steroids for 3 months till I started vomiting all my meds. I stopped taking all meds except vitamins but do not do this on your own. My hgb has been 14 to 15 since Jan. 2013. I get lab work every 3 mo ths. Had it checked Oct. 29, 2014 it was 15.4. The drug helped me. Good Luck!
