I had an episode of spasms in my lower stomach area, right below my belly button. Very painful surges lasting about 5 seconds and about 2-3 minutes apart. Over a 5 years period, I would get these episodes about 2-3 times a month they would last about 24 hours. I treated it with anti acid medicine (Maalox). Vomiting and diarrhea resulted and the symptoms gradually subsided. Last weekend I was on a road trip when it hit. I did not want to take Maalox because I needed to drive home (300 miles). A friend with the same illness suggested I take Robaxin. Within two hours the spasms were gone.
