I first started with 5 mg ritalin pills several times daily. I noticed a dramatic change within fifteen minutes. Everything seemed so peaceful! I was able to function much better at work. My humble estimate is that I got twice as much done and better!
I graduated over a period of several months to 54 mg ER over the next six months to a year as the roller-coaster aspect of taking a mg pill every four hours or so became "a bit too much".
I do not know your specific status. You doctor should be able to provide you with a good answer. I'm commenting in mid-December and your question was late August. If you have an answer, I would suggest either removing your question OR adding an explanation so others can benefit from your experiences.
