Risperidone - What happens when you refuse risperidone, before treatment ends?

From what perspective? What happens to your body? Are you inpatient and referring to what the Psychiatrist would do? If you are of age, and you are not legally bound to be in inpatient therapy, you can leave; you can also refuse medication if you're outpatient. If you're taking it for Schizophrenia, I would urge you to speak openly with your Psychiatrist about how you don't like it and are thinking of quitting. Discuss the side-effects you don't like, as there may be something else to try. Unmedicated schizophrenics generally don't do very well ... the problem is, they think they're better off without stabilizers, which is untrue. It's when unmedicated that folks end up getting involved with involuntary inpatient, or with the police. :0(
