Risperidone is FDA approved for schizophrenia and bi-polar 1 in adults and adolescents. It is used off label for augmenting SSRI's to treat OCD, major depression/panic/anxiety. It may have a higher rate of creating movement disorders then other psychotic meds.
Unless you are diagnosed with any of the above disorders, a parent or guardian may want to talk to the doctor about alternative options. There are other meds that may work better for anorexia with a lower risk involved.
