She was diagnosed with autism recently. I was not the only one to see the common effects she had on a daily basis, her teacher, counselor, and the principle too . What are yalls opinions about this medication? Hope I'm doing the right thing.
Risperidone 0.25mg was just prescribed to my 5 year old?
Added 5 Nov 2013:
(common effects; meaning like before I started her on the meds), I researched what autism was and I see a lot of the similarities that she has...She talks but not really clear on some of her words. And she doesn't understand the meaning of things at time, just hard explaining to other people who think she's just ignoring them
You and your family are on a journey... this one will help gain access to your daughter's mind and its inner workings. I believe this is a good medication.
You sound like a wonderfully committed mother and up for this challenge. You want the very best for your daughter and with the best, optimal outcome. This is a great med to start her on. Perhaps this one will help her open up and blossom into that young lady who is on the verge of realizing a new day... a new dawn... something very different from what she currently knows... I pray each step comes with that sense of having achieved something so special, so wonderfully thrilling that she takes on the face of the poster child... the face for HOPE!!!
I hope you will let us know how she is doing and how we can be of further, future assistance. I will pray for the breakthrough in her life
