Methotrexate has been around for a long time, and many many people have taken it, with not much in the way of problems. As far as taking it with pain medications, I would try to have pain meds without tylenol in them, as too much tylenol can harm your liver, and with methotrexate it can make it worse.
At the top of the page is a blue stripe, in it are the words interaction checker, if you have any more meds you have questions with methotrexate.
I was on methotrexate for about 6 months to treat my psoriatic arthritis but I've since been taken off because I wasn't getting any results from it. I took up to 100mg a day of lortab while taking it and I didn't have any problems. The only side effects I had was that it intensified my acid reflux. I took an extra Nexium the day before and day of my dose to help. I had a few mornings where I threw up stomach bile and I had headaches and a bit of nausea the day after but that was it. Good luck! I hope it works for you!
