Hi. This is actually complex. Thyroid medication is not given as a weight reducer. Doesn't make sense when no disease is present. Do you mind saying what your TSH is? The current accepted range is .3 to 3.0.
Losing weight requires working with a dietician to learn proper food proportions and then shifting to more fruits, veggies and less sugar, no soft drinks of any type that are sweetened or artificial, and reduce fried foods and desserts. If you start with, say mo soft drinks, you will lose weight right away as long as you don't treat as another dessert for you. That really is the trick. Start walking. It helps a lot. Find a partner to walk with you. Or a dog. Or your kids. You can do this if you get serious. No magic pills. Yes, they work on these but there still has to be the right foods and exercise to make a change work.
