I started taking a sleeping pill in June and it would dissolve like it was supposed to and I’d fall right to sleep. But the next time I picked it up from the pharmacy it was a new brand and I was told it may look different but it’s the same. It’s not, at least for me. It’s nowhere near as effective and doesn’t even dissolve. It turns into a paste kind of substance which I eventually have to swallow and on a few occasions I’ve woken up with a lot of it still under my tongue. I had a few pills from the old brand left over so I was able to compare the difference and know I’m not imagining it. Would it be possible to ask my pharmacy to order the old brand? It took me a long time to find something that works and I dread having to keep looking.
Chances are your pharmacy does what most do and that's is called networking and bulk group purchasing, they often can get the same " active ingredient" but not the same type of effective delivery system. Yes you can ask your pharmacy if they can fill your prescription with the other brand be prepared in case it's more costly to pay the difference out of pocket as insurance always pays for the lowest cost drug.
