Glimperide and pioglitazone help the body produce and use insulin but if it is not working then the person should be placed on insulin. I would ask my doctor if I have been taking them what is the reason for putting you on insulin.

because the patient have heart faliure and glimperide and pioglitazone tend to exacerbate its symptoms so i adviced total replacement.

Sometimes with type 2 diabetes the pills aren't enough and insulin is ordered to go along with the pills.
