my boy friend has crohn's disease and rheumatoid arthritis as well. he has been on Remicate for a year now, the colonoscopy showed that it works for crohn's but he gets severe joint pain. why is that? how do we control the pain? should we increase the dose of remicade?
Lovelyhannalee: What you are asking about are two different diagnosis. Chron's and RA. There is no cure for RA, but his physican can discuss with him the best pain treatment management program for him. There are many medications that work two fold, but are not always as effective for one person as they are for another. Remicade doesn't totally eliminate pain, just big cramps. Please have him call his physician and don't increase his medication without their approval.
